Our take

Fresh pasta and pizza share the menu at Tipo's Waterloo outlet. If we were picking a first plate, we would try the S$19.90 Classy Carbonara with smoked duck, egg yolk and a sous vide egg, before GST and service charge. Prime Pomodoro, Royal Ragu and build-your-own pasta offer other routes, while Queen Margie puts alfredo, tomato jam, parmesan cream and basil mousse on a pizza. Pasta-and-pizza choices make this a useful shared-table stop for friends who do not all want the same thing. Agreeing on dinner is optional; agreeing to share the last slice is the harder bit.
